Orbit Plus

Where the day actually went

Pick a person and a day, and Orbit shows the positions their phone recorded as dots on the map. History is kept for 14 days, then deleted for good.

On iPhone (iOS 16 or later) and Android (8.0 or later).

Dots, not guesses

Each dot is a position the phone actually recorded. Orbit doesn't join them with lines, because a straight line between two dots isn't the route anyone took.

Time spent somewhere, at a glance

Time at a saved place, or five minutes or more in one spot, becomes one bigger dot with a time range, such as 9:01 to 10:30. Tap any dot to see the time.

Only real movement

A phone that sits still doesn't pile up dots, and positions that aren't accurate to within 100 meters are left out.

Deleted after 14 days

Orbit keeps 14 days of history, today included. Anything older is deleted from the server automatically.

Location history: common questions

How far back does location history go?
14 days, today included. Older positions are deleted from Orbit's servers automatically.
Why are there gaps in the history?
A phone that is off, offline or not allowed to use location all the time can't record positions. Orbit shows what was recorded and doesn't fill in the gaps.
Is location history free?
Location history is part of Orbit Plus. Prices are shown in the App Store and Google Play.
